30+ Film and TV Quiz Round Ideas

When creating movie quizzes, it’s important to diversify the types of rounds and questions you’re giving. It can be more fun and gives an extra challenge for both you and the quizzers. This is because it’s not just the same repetitive format of questions, but it is a style of question that is new to people which means they have to think in a lateral way.

The great thing about a film/tv round is that you have a lot of media to work with. Whether that’s pictures of scenes, utilising quotes, or playing film soundtracks - there’s a large variety of questions you can create.

So if you’re looking to switch things up in your next movie quiz, here are some ideas for your media/entertainment round to help you widen your trivia question inventory.

Some round ideas are better for films, and some are better for TV, but most of these can be used for both.

1. Scene Reconstruction / Scene It Before?

Have 4 still images from a film. Have players put the sequence in the correct order.

2. Badly Explained Plots / Terrible Plots

Take the synopsis of a movie and use synonyms and similar phrases to explain the plot. It’s best if you make it sound as silly as possible
